How to Establish Family Traditions for the New Year

One of the best New Year’s resolutions you will be making is to help strengthen your family ties. This tradition will help you link your past, present, and future to solidify your family unit. To ensure success to your New Year’s resolution family tradition, keep it simple and inexpensive. If you have more time, you can select a new monthly tradition. Make it meaningful like visiting a retirement home, or planting a tree so that it will be remembered. Allow everyone to have input in selecting so that they will feel motivated to participate. Write it in your calendar so that you will be reinforcing the importance of your tradition and carry it out if you see it in writing. Take photographs so that they will be cherished for years. Hhmmm... I don't know yet . Maybe we'll start a new one and make sure to gather during Christmas! We haven't been able to celebrate Christmas together for more than 5 years because we all have our own lives and we're always busy with work. This Christmas though, I'll come home and be with them and I am so excited

I have to admit that I belong to the families who do not come together too on special occasions. Christmas is the best time for the family to gather and spend some quality time. Maybe I will come home too if my boss allows me to take a long vacation leave this time

I admit, that new year is the time when I make similar resolutions...but when it comes to keep them, I am really so laid back.
